Right-wing coalition candidate won the president elections in Croatia

The current president of Croatia, Ivo Josipović conceded defeat in the second round of presidential elections and congratulated his opponent, a representative of the opposition National Conservative Party "Croatian Democratic Union" Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović. 

As of 22:35 local time, Grabar-Kitarovic received 50.42 percent of votes, while Josipovic - 49.58 percent, according to State Election Commission of Croatia 

Oppositionist has built his campaign on economic issues, suggesting measures to strengthen of energy security, the fight against unemployment and obstruction of youth immigration from the country. 

The president of Croatia is elected by popular secret ballot for a five years term and may be re-elected more than once. The Head of State administers by army and diplomacy, as well as performs ceremonial functions in accordance with the constitution.
