RUSSIA'S NEW HISTORY MANIPULATIONS: PUTIN CALLED ANNE OF KYIV A RUSSIAN

The daughter of the Kievan Prince Yaroslav the Wise ruled France in the XI century - long before the foundation of the Moscow Principality, the Golden Horde and the appearance of "Russian" folk at all.

New history facts manipulation by Russia's leadership. During today's meeting with new French president Emmanuel Macron in Paris Vladimir Putin said that Anne of Kiev, daughter of the Kievan Prince Yaroslav I and the queen consort of Henry I of France, was allegedly of a Russian origin.

"The enlightened French public knows about the Russian Anne, the queen of France; The youngest daughter of our Grand Duke Yaroslav the Wise was a wife of Henry I and made a significant contribution to the development of France, being one of the founders of at least two European dynasties - the Bourbon and Valois - one of which still rules in Spain," - Russian president said.

Anna Yaroslavna, also known in History as Anna of Kyiv, the daughter of the Kievan Prince Yaroslav I the Wise and the Swedish princess Ingegerda, the niece of the saints Boris and Gleb. In 1051 she married Henry I, the king of France in Reims, and became the queen of France.

In 2013, the Ukrainian Diocese of St. Volodimir in Paris, headed by Bishop Boris (Gudzyak), President of the Ukrainian Catholic University, purchased a church in Sanlis, near the St. Vincent Abbey, founded by Queen Yaroslavna of France in 1060.

Recall, in November 2016, the Russian authorities installed a monument to the Kievan Prince Vladimir alongside the Kremlin, calling the Ukrainian historical figure "a founder of the Russian nation."
