TRAGEDY IN ODESSA'S CHILDREN CAMP - BRAVE YOUNGSTERS SAVED DOZENS CHILDREN

Passions keep running high in Odessa around recent tragedy in the Victoria children's camp. Recall, on September 16 a fire broke out in the camp's building, 3 childerred died, 2 have been hospitalized in critical condition.

According to the police, a fire alarm system did not triggered when the fire broke out, so the firefighters arrived with a delay. The indifferent Odessa citizens have already published in social networks numerous facts of violations of security in the Viktoriya. A criminal proceedings has been runned according to the pt. 2 of art. 270 of the Ukrainian criminal code "Violation of fire safety requirements established by the legislation." The children's camp director is under arrest. Since next day protests and clashes with law enforcement have been started near the city's Regional State Administration. Activists - among them members of Ukrainian nationalist movement - demand the city mayor Genady Truhanov to retire. 

Worth clarify, that the current mayor of Odessa had positioned this children's camp project as his personal initiative. The tender was won by the "South-Ukrbud" firm, belonging to people related to Mayor Gennady Trukhanov. After winning the tender, the cost of the project was increased by 30% according to the negotiation procedure. Later tt turns out that the "South-Ukrbud" initially did not provide a fire alarm and internal power supply in the camp's building. 

What we want to pay attention for in the article it's bravery and self-sacrificial courage, that young people had shown in the face life-thread danger. We are talking about Katerina Noy - a young girl, who who saved 8 children from fire - and Maksim Tikhonchuk - he carried out 15 children from 5 rooms of the blazing camp. Couple days ago Katerina was transferred from a resuscitation to an ordinary chamber. She is in a state of mild shock. As for the boy Maksim - thank God he wasn't injuried. The boy is well now and he went to school on Monday, without hiding burns on his hands. The readiness to sacrifice own life for saving others indicates on noble features in the young peoples' souls. There are still those, who have managed to preserve it from the influence of mass culture and other phenomenons of the modern world, and this gives hope.
