FEBRUARY'S FIRE MYSTERY IN TALLINN, ESTONIANS MARKED THE 100th INDEPENDENCE ANNIVERSARY

A torch march in the historical part of Tallinn has become a traditional part of celebration of the Independence Day of Estonian Republic. The Conservative People's Party of Estonia (the Estonian Konservatiivne Rahvaerakond) has became the permanent organizer of the large-scale and spectacular event.

This year's torchlight procession was devoted to the centenary since the proclamation of the state independence of Estonia. The few thousand event was participated not only by ordinary residents of Tallinn, members of local patriotic organisations, but also guests from Lithuania, Latvia, Finland, Sweden and Denmark.

The march was ended with solemn speeches by Mart Helme, a leader of Estonian nationalists, and invited foreign guests. After that all the presenters performed the national anthem of Estonia.
